More Designin'

Here are a couple more pieces I've just finished up this past week. This first one is a Baptism Invitation for Gracelyn Kate Boeckmann.

This is a business card for the Osseo Ace Hardware & Builders Supply. I did these for both the owner and his son.

This is a wedding invitation I designed for my friend Lindsey. We both fell in love with this design. The first picture is of the front of the invitation and the second is the back of it which includes an itinerary, hotel accommodations & RSVP neatly tied behind the invitation and following that is the pieces individually. What you don't see in these pictures is the ribbon that holds it all together. When I receive this invitation, I will be sure to take another pictures of it with the ribbon intact.

Photography

Not only do I love design, but I have a passion for photography too. I have always loved taking pictures, but it wasn't until my photography classes in college that I began to look at photography in a new light. Below are some, maybe I should say a few, of the pictures that I have taken of who knows what, who or where.

I thought it would be fitting to start off with this picture that was taken on my first day of a 'real' photography class. We were sent outside with our school cameras and told to play around with them. I think it was a very successful trip.

Shroom Project

This is my Shroom Project. These pictures were taken prior to any 'real' photography class, and I only had my mom's camera, which isn't bad...but it's no Nikon either. I went up into our 40 acres and started snapping shots of lush green moss, trees, colorful leaves and of course, mushrooms! It was fun, and I plan on going back to take pictures there with a 'real' camera soon.

Senior Pictures

This is Joe. I worked with his mom at my internship the summer of 2008 and she told me she really liked my portfolio and my photos and she asked if I would take his senior pictures. I was more than happy to and he was a very fun young man to work with, very funny! Although I wasn't very familiar with the camera I had to use, all went well!

Family Photos

This fall I forced, well, coerced my family into taking some family pictures. The last time we had taken a family photo, I was quite possibly in 5th grade, and considering I was about to graduate college, and there were many new additions to our family since than, I won and got them to drive to some random place in the wilderness to take pictures. I wanted fall colors and trees and drove around until I found the right place. The kids had a fun time throwing leaves in the air and shaking some of the smaller trees to make the leaves fall like rain. In one or two you see Dayne giggling because he thought it was so funny that the leaves were falling. :) Now I'm wondering which decade our next family picture will be taken in.

Pregnancy Photos

These are a couple pregnancy shots that I took of my cousin Jenna. I had never taken pictures of a pregnant belly before this, and found it so fun and beautiful. I love how the lighting looks on the curvature of the belly, its so beautiful. You will be seeing pictures of her little one below in this post, and I can imagine, many more posts to follow...she's adorable and I can't NOT take pictures of her. :)

Days at the Park <3

This is Delaney & Dayne, they are two of my four nieces and nephews. I cannot count the number of pictures I have taken of them at the different parks around town. They are always so happy and busy at the park I find it hard not to take pictures of them. Its fun for me to see them like this, to see them grow.

Gracelyn Kate

Here is Gracelyn Kate! These were taken while she was still in the hospital. She is now about 2 months old! Hopefully I can steal her and take some new pictures of her soon, you'll be amazed at how much she's changed.

Ahh...Summer

Ahhhh Summer... These are a few of the most recent trips with a camera me and my friend Amy went on. She came home after one year in Korea teaching for a visit before returning so we went to Irvine Park in Chippewa and stayed at my camper at Mallard Resort on the Chippewa River. She has a 'real' camera, a Nikon D40 which I took the pictures with the sky in them. The others were taken on a regular Olympus camera, but I was somewhat impressed with what I could do on that one as well.

As I said before, this is just a small glimpse into all the pictures I have taken, I will post more soon! :) Thanks!

Freelancin' is fun

This spring I have been working on many different freelance projects and have enjoyed all of them. Below are some of the things I have been doing

This is my cousin Kelsey's High School Graduation invitation that I was more than happy to do! Kelsey is a fun and outgoing girl who wanted an invitation that wasn't 'boring'. I have known her to love pink and all things girly since she was young so I decided to try pink, even though her school colors were orange and black. She was thrilled to see pink on her invites and told me she didn't want orange in the first place and that I read her mind!

This piece is a poster done for a young entrepreneur who wanted to promote his new weekend business. I came up with a logo for Landworks and than began designing the posters which were meant to be hung in local business and we really wanted them to pop out amongst the other posters on bulletin boards and such. He said "this is a hick business, but I don't want it too look major hick, just a little." So I incorporated things from the wilderness, but still managed to keep it not too 'hickish' and still able to reach our target audience.

My addiction to design and cute babies drove me to design ALOT of baby announcements when my family started reproducing at very high rates! Seven of my cousins are giving birth to eight babies in 2009, yep that's a lot of babies in one year! Here is one of the many I did up before the bulk of these babies were/have been born. This is Gracelyn Kate, the daughter of my cousin Jenna, whom happen to buy an amazing Nikon camera before the birth of her adorable baby girl so I was thrilled to take tons of pictures of their little bundle of joy!

I have also been designing a couple wedding invites and stationery this spring, one for a fellow classmate and the other for a close friend of mine....but they are not yet all complete so you will have to check in later to see them!

Crusts Unlimited

These are some of the sales sheets I am currently working on for Crusts Unlimited, a pizza crust manufacturer in Osseo. They have just added to their line new 'flavored' pizza crusts and were looking for someone to help them promote their new products. Not only have I enjoyed photographing and designing for this project, but also have enjoyed the reward of eating pizza afterwards as well! I am looking forward to seeing the finished products and am still photographing and designing for this project.

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by my new blog! I am excited to start sharing my design, photography, and... whatever else is going on in my life. Since I have never been a "blogger" before I am swimming in uncharted water here so please bare with me. Hopefully very shortly I will be able to upload some of my things for all to see.
